Sara Miller

My name is Sara Miller, and I’m a rising senior at North Smithfield High School enrolled in the Business & Finance CTE program. I’ve always been drawn to the entrepreneurial side of things and saw business as the foundation to understanding how ideas become impact. Over time, that interest evolved into a focused passion for finance, especially investment banking. I’m meticulous, motivated, and someone who values clarity and strategy, whether it’s designing business cards for my dad’s engineering company or preparing for a team competition.

Since joining DECA my freshman year, what started as a program requirement quickly became something more. Through events like Hospitality Services, Buying and Merchandising, and Principles of Marketing, I’ve grown as a communicator and competitor—earning first place at the CDC in Hospitality Services Team Decision Making. DECA pushed me out of my comfort zone and gave me the confidence to speak up, collaborate, and see challenges as chances to grow. It’s helped me realize that presentation and people skills aren’t just talents; they’re tools, sharpened over time. Looking ahead, I hope to inspire new members to join DECA and show how it opens doors for students across every background and career path.
